Church Notices

3rd Sunday of Advent        CHURCH NOTICES           Sunday 16th December 2018

1. This Sunday is Reconciliation Sunday here in St Aengus’s Church. Each Mass begins with a short service of Reconciliation during which it is possible to make one’s  Christmas Confession. Visiting priests are available to help.

2. We congratulate the lucky winners in this year’s Christmas Parish raffle which was held in the Penny Black on Thurs night last. Winners have been notified. A list of winners have been posted on the notice board  at the back.

3. We thank all who contribute weekly to the Church Envelope collection by way of Envelope or Standing Order to the Bank.  If you do not have a Box of envelopes & would like your family to contribute to the support of the Parish -  there are boxes available at the back of the Church or from the Sacristy. (It is a big help if you can put your name & address on the front of the envelope). We appeal to each family in the parish & to supporters of St Aengus parish to lend their support to this most important “bread & butter collection.

4. Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards are available from the Parish Office or Sacristy. A special Triduum of Masses will be offered next week.

5. The Parish Lotto draw was not won last week.  Next week’s Jackpot will be €2,500. Tickets available after Mass & from the usual sellers.

6. The Church Gate Collection is the monthly collection for the Church Refurbishment fund. We ask you to show your usual generosity.

7. The whole parish was greatly saddened & outraged at the robbery of  this year’s very generous Christmas Vincent de Paul collection.  The two volunteer helpers who were accosted in the robbery have recovered from the trauma and are doing well.  We thank everyone for their messages of support and indeed further donations to the VdeP.  A warning for all of us to be extra vigilant & to review our security.
